Alan Axelrod (born 1952) is an American author of history, business and management books.[1] As of October 2018, he had written more than 150 books.[2] Axelrod resides inAtlanta, Georgia.[3]

Axelrod received his doctorate in English from theUniversity of Iowa in 1979,[4] specializing in the literature and culture ofcolonial America and the early republic of theUnited States. He has taught atLake Forest College andFurman University, worked as a publishing executive, and has been a consultant to historical museums, cultural institutions, television'sCivil War Journal, theWB Network, and theDiscovery Channel.[4][5]

Axelrod was a featured speaker at the 2004 Conference on Excellence in Government inWashington, DC. He has also been a speaker at the Leadership Institute ofColumbia College (South Carolina) inColumbia, South Carolina, and at the 2005 Annual Conference of the Goizueta School of Business, atEmory University in Atlanta, Georgia. He also spoke at the 2014 annual conference ofEcopetrol inBogota, Colombia.[4][6]
