Alan Almand (born 19 March 1943), also known asWilly Almand, is a retired Britishrower. He competed at the1972 Summer Olympics.[1]
Almand won thecoxed fours withChristopher Pierce,Hugh Matheson, Dick Findlay andPatrick Sweeney, rowing for aTideway Scullers andLeander composite, at the inaugural1972 National Rowing Championships.[2] The winning crew were then selected to represent Great Britain at the 1972 Olympics,Rooney Massara replaced Findlay in themen's coxed four event where the crew finished in tenth place after being knocked out in the semi-finals.[3]
