Alain Bruneel (born 7 March 1952 inTourcoing)[1] is a French politician. A member of theCommunist Party (PCF), he representedNord's 16th constituency in theFrench National Assembly from 2017 until 2022.
He has been the mayor ofLewarde (Nord department) since 1999.
He was elected aregional councillor in 2004 and 2010. In 2011, he was elected a Nordgeneral councillor from thecanton of Douai-Sud and resigned from the regional council to avoidholding multiple offices; he gave his seat toChristophe di Pompeo.[2]
He was elected to theFrench National Assembly on18 June 2017, representing the16th constituency of Nord.[3][4][5]
