Albert Lenart Gursky (born November 23, 1940), is an American former professionalfootball [player who was alinebacker for theNew York Giants of theNational Football League (NFL). He playedcollege football for thePenn State Nittany Lions. He played professionally for the Giants in 1963 and in theAtlantic Coast Football League (ACFL) for theAtlantic City Senators in 1966.
Gursky was born inWest Reading, Pennsylvania, and attendedGovernor Mifflin Senior High School inBerks County, Pennsylvania. He then attendedPenn State University where he played for theNittany Lions from 1960 to 1962.[1] He played defensive back for Penn State and was also a star of the Penn State baseball team.[2]
Gursky later played professional football in the NFL for the New York Giants in 1963.[3][4] He appeared in two NFL games.[3] After an injury to linebacker Tom Scott in the first quarter of the1963 NFL Championship Game, Gursky entered the game as a substitute and was credited by teammateAndy Robustelli with having done "an outstanding job."[2]
He also played in the ACFL for the Atlantic City Senators in 1966.[1]
