Al-Ankawi (Arabic:العنكاوي) is aSyrian town located in theZiyarah Subdistrict of theal-Suqaylabiyah District inHama Governorate. According to theSyria Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), al-Ankawi had a population of 2,298 in the 2004 census.[1] Its inhabitants are predominantlySunni Muslims.
The settlement has been shelled repeatedly by the Syrian government in recent years.[2][3]
