Akinwale Joseph Odimayo (born 28 November 1999) is an English professionalfootballer who plays as adefender forEFL League Two clubNewport County.

Career

Odimayo began his career withReading, turning professional in July 2018,[3] and making his senior debut for the club on 27 August 2019 in theEFL Cup.[4] He moved on loan toHungerford Town in September 2019,[5] and on loan to Irish clubWaterford in February 2020.[6]

After being released by Reading at the end of the 2019–20 season, he signed forSwindon Town in August 2020.[7] On 14 May 2021 it was announced that he had been offered a new contract.[8] Odimayo went on trial withLeague One clubPortsmouth but failed to earn a contract.[9] On 3 August 2021 Odimayo signed a new one-year contract with Swindon Town.[10]

He signed forNorthampton Town in July 2022.[11] Odimayo left the club at the end of the 2024–25 season.[12]

On 24 October 2025 Odimayo signed a short-term contract withNewport County.[13] He made his debut on 25 October 2025 in the 3–0 League Two win against Harrogate Town asa second-half substitute.[14]
