TheAhirwar, orAharwar areDalit members of a north Indiancaste categorised among theScheduled Castes ofChamar. Predominantly they are members of the Scheduled Castes with a higher population inUttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh.[1][2][3]

They are present, for example, in the state ofMadhya Pradesh.[4] The2001 Census of India recorded them in theBundelkhand area and as the largest caste group inLalitpur district,Uttar Pradesh, with a total population 138,167.[citation needed]
