Agustín Ignacio Orión (Spanish pronunciation:[aɣusˈtinoˈɾjon]; born 26 June 1981) is an Argentine former professionalfootballer who played as agoalkeeper. He was capped three times forArgentina.

Club career

Orion wasSan Lorenzo's first choice goalkeeper in 2007, when he helped the club to win theClausura tournament.

On 9 December 2009, the goalkeeper left San Lorenzo for 500 thousand euros and joinedEstudiantes de La Plata.[2]

In July 2011 Orion signed withBoca Juniors, where he won the2011 Apertura.[3] In 2013, Agustín received offers from important European clubs,[citation needed] but he decided to stay inBoca Juniors, because he is an important piece in the team and he loves the club.

In August 2016 Orion signed withRacing Club.

International career

Orion was called up to theArgentina national football team as third goalkeeper behindRoberto Abbondanzieri andJuan Pablo Carrizo for the2007 Copa América held in Venezuela.[4]

He made his debut for theAlbiceleste againstBrazil in theSuperclásico de las Américas in September 2011.[4]

In June 2014, Orion was named in Argentina's squad for the2014 FIFA World Cup.[5]
