TheAftershock Festival is ahard rock andheavy metal festival inSacramento, California, started in 2012.[2][3]
In 2019, the festival expanded to three days, and in 2021 Aftershock expanded to four days, October 7 to 10.[4][5]
In 2022, Aftershock attracted an estimated 160,000 fans to the festival.[6]

Aftershock 2023 took place during a week of high temperatures and hydration stations were provided to festival goers.[15][16]Pantera pulled out of the festival due to"circumstances beyond our control", being replaced byStone Temple Pilots.[17] Prior to Aftershock,Corey Taylor injured his leg during a show in Los Angeles and also pulled out of the festival. Members of his touring group were also having difficulties with Covid-19.[18]

Aftershock 2024 saw the introduction of a new fifth stage, allowing an additional 30 bands to perform on the festival lineup. Approximately 160,000 people were in attendance for the festival weekend.[19][20]

Aftershock 2025 saw the removal of the Soundwave Stage from 2024 following complaints about crowd congestion and noise interference, reducing the number of stages back to four as in previous years. 2025 also saw audiences facing muddy conditions due to rainy weather,[21] and the renaming of the Jack Daniel's Stage to the Aftershock Stage.
