African-American leftism refers toleft-wing political currents that have developed among variousAfrican-American communities in theUnited States.^[1] These currents are active around social issues, and often call for an African-American led movement that aims at bringing aboutcommunism andsocialism between theAfrican-American community andWhite community and other minority groups.^[2]
