TheAeromarine AS was a seaplane fighter aircraft evaluated by theUS Navy in the early 1920s.
Development and design [ edit ] Other than thevertical stabilizer , it was configured as a conventional two-baybiplane on twinpontoons , with two seats.[ 1] The sole example of the original design, designatedAS-1 had an inverted fin. After evaluation testing, the Navy ordered two aircraft, designatedAS-2 . The AS-2 had cruciform tails and largerradiators , and ailerons on both upper and lower wings.[ 1]
