The largest city in the region isİzmir . Other big cities areManisa ,Aydın ,Denizli ,Muğla ,Afyonkarahisar andKütahya .
Located in western Turkey, it is bordered by theAegean Sea to the west, theMarmara region to the north, theCentral Anatolia Region to the east, and theMediterranean Region to the south.
Among the four coastal regions, the Aegean Region has the longest coastline.

The climate of the Aegean Region has aMediterranean climate at the coast, with hot, dry summers and mild to cool, wet winters and asemi-arid continental climate in the interior with hot, dry summers and cold, snowy winters.
