The Advanced Technology Research Council(ATRC) is anAbu Dhabi government entity responsible forresearch and development (R&D) for technology inAbu Dhabi, the capital of theUnited Arab Emirates.

The current ATRC Secretary-General isFaisal Al Bannai.

Organization

ATRC has three entities that manage the council's research areas:[1]  

  • Technology Innovation Institute - This is the applied research technology pillar and global research and development institution.[2]
  • ASPIRE[3][4][5] - This is the technology and business solutions pillar.
  • VentureOne[6][7] - This is the commercialization arm that facilitates the transition of prototypes from lab to market.

ATRC was established in May 2020 by former UAE PresidentKhalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.[8] ATRC is responsible for defining policies and procedures forR&D in Abu Dhabi[9]

  • Directed Energy Research Center (DERC)
  • Quantum Research Center (QRC)[14]
  • Secure Systems Research Center (SSRC)[15]
  • Propulsion and Space Research Center (PSRC)[16]
  • Renewable and Sustainable Energy Research Center (RSERC)[17]
  • Biotechnology Research Center (BRC)
