Aden William James Baldwin (born 10 June 1997) is an English professionalfootballer who plays as adefender forEFL League One clubBradford City.

Club career

Forest Green Rovers

Baldwin joinedForest Green Rovers as a 15-year-old and combined football with education atSouth Gloucestershire and Stroud College.[4] He made his debut for Forest Green againstCheltenham Town in theGloucestershire Senior Challenge Cup in April 2014 before signing a professional contract at the end of the 2014–15 season.[4] On 20 August 2015, Baldwin joinedNational League South clubBath City on a one-month loan deal.[5]

Bristol City

In January 2016, Baldwin signed forChampionship sideBristol City on a two-and-a-half-year contract.[4] On 12 October 2016, Baldwin joinedNational League South clubWeston-super-Mare on a 93-day loan deal.[6] He rejoined Weston-super-Mare on loan for a further two-month period ahead of the 2017–18 season.[7]

In August 2018, he moved on loan toLeague Two clubCheltenham Town until January 2019.[8] His loan spell was cut short after he suffered a serious knee injury which ruled him out for four months againstMilton Keynes Dons in October 2018.[9]

In February 2020, Baldwin signed a new contract with Bristol City until June 2021 with the option of a further year,[10] and joinedNational League sideEastleigh on loan until the end of the season.[11]

Milton Keynes Dons

On 13 July 2021, Baldwin joinedLeague One sideMilton Keynes Dons following his release from Bristol City.[12][13] He made his debut for the club on 31 July 2021, in a 5–0EFL Cup first round defeat away toBournemouth.[14] Having made 16 appearances for the club, Baldwin was later one of six players released at the end of the2021–22 season.[15]

Notts County

On 21 June 2022, Baldwin signed a two-year deal withNational League clubNotts County, effective from 1 July 2022.[16] On 7 May 2023 he scored his first and second goals for the club in a 3–2 win over Boreham Wood in the National League play-off semi-final,[17] and was described as a "big figure" in the club's promotion via the playoffs.[18]

He was released by the club at the end of the 2023–24 season.[19]

Bradford City

Following the expiry of his Notts County contract, in May 2024 it was announced that he would sign forBradford City on 1 July 2024.[20][21] Baldwin later praised Bradford managerGraham Alexander's transfer policy,[22] as well as the club's team spirit and culture.[23] He suffered a hamstring injury in August 2024,[24] returning to training in November 2024.[25] He made his first appearance following injury on 3 December 2024, appearing as a substitute.[26] He later spoke about his friendship withAntoni Sarcevic who, like Baldwin, had joined Bradford City in the summer of 2024 but spent most of the start of the season injured.[27] Baldwin was a regular in the Bradford City team in the second half of the season, as they pushed for promotion,[28] although missed some matches towards the very end of the season due to illness.[29] He also missed the last game of the season though suspension.[30]

Ahead of the 2025–26 season, Baldwin missed pre-season due to injury.[31] After re-establishing himself in the first-team, he was injured in late September 2025,[32] and remained out-of-action into October.[33] He returned to full training in mid-November,[34] and to first-team play later that month, as the club suffered from injuries in his position.[35]
