Adam Shareef Umar (Dhivehi:އާދަމް ޝަރީފް ޢުމަރު; born 12 December 1964) is aMaldivian politician who is currently the Minister of Cities, Local Government and Public Works.[3]
Shareef obtained amaster's degree in education from theUniversity of East Anglia.[4]
He served asMinister of Defense and National Security during the presidency ofAbdulla Yameen.[5] Prior to that, he served as the Minister of State for Education from 2014 to 2015.[6]
He was also a Special Envoy ofPresident Yameen.[7]
He was a Member of the 19thParliament for the Madduvari Constituency.[8] He is also the Deputy Leader of thePeople's National Congress (PNC).[9]
