Adam Sadler (born 9 January 1980) is an Englishfootball coach.
Sadler had stints in the youth academies atNewcastle UnitedManchester United andBarnsley before joining Scottish clubGretna.[2] In August 2003,Blyth Spartans signed Sadler.[3]
At the age of 21, Sadler entered coaching, joining Newcastle United in 2001. During his time at the club, Sadler was appointedreserve team manager, helping the side to win theNorthumberland Senior Cup. A short spell atNorwich City underGlenn Roeder was followed by a return toNorth East England, where he was assistant manager at Blyth Spartans,Team Northumbria, andGateshead. Sadler later joinedPlymouth Argyle, eventually becoming first team coach under managerPeter Reid.[4] In August 2011, Sadler joinedManchester City as under-18 coach.[5] Following two years at Manchester City, Sadler took up a coaching role at Ukrainian clubTavriya Simferopol.[2]
In 2014, Sadler joinedLeicester City as a tactical analyst underNigel Pearson. In 2018, under the management ofClaude Puel, Sadler was appointed as first-team coach.[2] On 26 February 2019, following the sacking of Puel, Sadler and joint-caretaker managerMike Stowell oversaw a 2–1 home win overBrighton & Hove Albion.[6]
On 28 August 2021, Sadler joined the backroom staff of the Northern Ireland national team in conjunction with his coaching role at Leicester City.[7]
After the arrival of new managerEnzo Maresca, Sadler left Leicester City on 30 June 2023.[8]
Sadler was appointed first-team coach at Celtic F.C. on 31 December 2023.[9]
