Accelerated phase chronic myelogenous leukemia is a phase ofchronic myelogenous leukemia in which the disease is progressing.[1]
Common symptoms includefever,bone pain, andswollen spleen.[2]
Patients treated withimatinib,dasatinib, andnilotinib have shown meaningful rates of hematologic and cytogenetic response.[3]
Prognosis is very poor once chronic myelogenous leukemia reaches the accelerated phase; it behaves similarly toacute myeloid leukemia.
