TheAbukuma Kōgen Road (あぶくま高原道路Abukuma Kōgen Dōro) is atwo-lane toll road inFukushima Prefecture. It serves as an alternate route between theTōhoku Expressway andBan-etsu Expressway through south-central theplains of Fukushima Prefecture. It was also built to serve as a bypass of a proposed location for a newcapital of Japan in the aforementioned flat area.[1] The road is managed by the Fukushima Prefecture Road Corporation and is numberedE80 under theMinistry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism's "2016 Proposal for Realization of Expressway Numbering."[2]
