Abhay Chhajlani (4 August 1934 – 23 March 2023) was an Indian journalist[1] and the chief editor of the Indore-based daily,Nai Dunia.[citation needed] He was the president of theIndian Newspaper Society,[2] a post to which he was elected in 2002.[3] He also served the society as a member of its executive committee.[4] He was associated withBlood Donation 365 Days, an initiative promoting blood donation.[5] He was the chairman ofAbhay Prashal, a social facility in Indore[6] and participated in several social forums.[7] The government of India awarded him the fourth-highest civilian honour of thePadma Shri, in 2009, for his contributions to journalism.[8]
Abhay Chhajlani belonged to the founding family of Naidunia and was chairman of the Indore Table Tennis Trust in 1994.[citation needed] He was also a member of the Indian Languages Newspaper Association and served as president of the member executive committee.[citation needed]
Chhajlani died on 23 March 2023, at the age of 88.[9]
