TheAbdul al-Qadir al-Husseini Brigades (Arabic:كتائب الشهيد عبد القادر الحسيني,romanized: kataib eabd alqadir alhusayni), named afterAbdul Qadir al-Husayni, is aFatah-aligned militant group in theGaza Strip. It has a relationship with theAl-Quds Brigades and theAl-Nasser Salah al-Deen Brigades.[5]
AfterHamas outlawedFatah's activities in theGaza Strip in 2007, cofounders of theAl-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades founded the Abdul al-Qadir al-Husseini Brigades in 2012. Hamas allowed the organization to function without giving it explicit permission.[5]
They participated in the2021 Israel–Palestine crisis.[7] During theGaza war (2023–present) they have fought theIDF in theNetzarim Corridor,[3]Rafah,[8] andGaza City.[9]
