Aati, also calledAti, meaning "a leper", was anEgyptian god and one of the 42judges of the dead.[1][2] Aati comes fromHeliopolis. The god will question the sins of asoul traveling through theunderworld. The soul of the dead was supposed to deny the accusation by responding with the line: "O Aati who comes from Heliopolis, I have not foolishly set my mouth in motion against another man."[3] His name is found on the Papyrus ofNebsemy, which is a copy of theBook of the Dead.[4]
