A Moreninha is the firsturban novel inBrazilian literature. This novel was written byJoaquim Manuel de Macedo (1820–1882), and it was first published in 1844 (the same year theauthorgraduated inmedicine)[1] in the format ofnewspaper serials and later it was adapted to thebook format. It was adapted intofilms inA Moreninha (1915),A Moreninha (1970) and another film with the performance ofCacilda Becker,Bibi Ferreira andTito Fleury directed byMiroel Silveira began to be recorded in 1945, but was not completed, and intosoap operas inA Moreninha (1965) andA Moreninha (1975).[2]
