TheQatar Open, currently known as theQatarExxonMobil Open for sponsorship reasons, is a professionaltennis tournament played onoutdoor hard courts. It was part of theATP Tour 250 series on theATP Tour. It is held annually in January at theKhalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex inDoha,Qatar, since 1993. In 2025, the tournament was upgraded to anATP 500 level event.[1]

That year sawRafael Nadal andRoger Federer (then-World No. 1 and 2, respectively) kick off the season on a tennis court situated on a boat offDoha Bay. The following year saw the duo return, this time playing on a "magic carpet" tennis court in theSouq Waqif.[2] In 2011, the two came back and opened the new season on a court laid in the water of Doha Bay.[3] The 2012 season was once again launched by both Federer and Nadal. This time, they played on a tennis court in theKatara Cultural Village amphitheatre.[4]
