TheA1068 is a road in northernEngland that runs fromSeaton Burn inNorth Tyneside toAlnwick inNorthumberland.[2] The section betweenEllington andAlnmouth is signposted as part of theNorthumberland Coastal Route.[1]

The A1068 begins at aroundabout with theA19 road at Seaton Burn. It has a briefdual carriageway section before crossing from the county of Tyne and Wear into Northumberland. It is dual carriageway standard again pastNelson Village, andjoins the route of theA192 road for about 1 mile (1.6 km). It continues through the town ofBedlington where it meets theA193 road and beyond the town it has a junction with theA196 road (toMorpeth). It joins the route of theA197 road for about 1 mile (1.6 km) close to the town ofAshington. It re-emerges and heads in a north-easterly direction until it reaches the roundabout with theA189 road. From its junction with the A189 the A1068 gainsprimary status and heads roughly north. It passes the coastal town ofAmble and the villages ofWarkworth andAlnmouth, crossing theRiver Aln atLesbury before reaching the town ofAlnwick. The road terminates at its junction with theA1.
