Associação Desportiva de Esposende(abbreviated asAD Esposende) is a Portuguesefootball club based inEsposende in thedistrict of Braga.[1]

Background

AD Esposende currently plays in theTerceira Divisão Série A which is the fourth tier ofPortuguese football. The club was founded in 1978 and they play their home matches at the Estádio Padre Sá Pereira inEsposende. The stadium is able to accommodate 1,700 spectators.[citation needed]

The club is affiliated toAssociação de Futebol de Braga and has competed in the AF Braga Taça. The club has also entered the national cup competition known asTaça de Portugal on occasions, and reached the semifinals in1999.[1][citation needed]
