1967–1969 U.S. Congress
The90th United States Congress was a meeting of the legislative branch of the United States federal government, composed of theUnited States Senate and theUnited States House of Representatives . It met inWashington, D.C. , from January 3, 1967, to January 3, 1969, during the last two years ofPresident Lyndon B. Johnson 's secondterm in office .
The apportionment of seats in thisHouse of Representatives was based on the1960 United States census .
Both chambers had aDemocratic majority; however, the Democrats lost seats in both the Senate and the House, which cost them both their 2/3rds supermajority in the Senate and their supermajority status in the House. Along with President Johnson, the Democrats maintained an overall federal governmenttrifecta .
