The64th British Academy Film Awards, more commonly known as theBAFTAs, were held on 13 February 2011 at theRoyal Opera House inLondon, honouring the best national and foreign films of2010.[1][2][3][4][5][6] Presented by theBritish Academy of Film and Television Arts, accolades are handed out for the best feature-length film and documentaries of any nationality that were screened at British cinemas in 2010.
The nominations were announced on 18 January 2011.[7][8][9][10]The King's Speech earned the most nominations with fourteen and won seven, including Best Film, Outstanding British Film, Best Actor forColin Firth, Best Supporting Actor forGeoffrey Rush, Best Supporting Actress forHelena Bonham Carter, and Best Original Screenplay forDavid Seidler.[1]Natalie Portman won Best Actress forBlack Swan andDavid Fincher won Best Director forThe Social Network.[1]
