4Q240 ( or 4QCanta) is believed to be acommentary (orpesher) on theSong of Songs, also known as 'Canticles'. Written inHebrew, it was found in Cave 4 atQumran in theJudean Desert and comprises part of theDead Sea Scrolls.[citation needed] From itspalaeography (script) it has been identified as being early-Herodian.[citation needed]
