The40th Daytime Creative Arts Emmy Awards, presented by theNational Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS), "recognizes outstanding achievement in all fields of daytime television production and are presented to individuals and programs broadcast from 2:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. during the 2012 calendar year".[2] The ceremony was held at theWestin Bonaventure inLos Angeles on June 14, 2013.[1][3][4]
The 40th Daytime Creative Arts Emmy Awards was hosted byTeresa Ganzel,Actress,Voice-over Actress andComedian ofThe Tonight Show with Johnny Carson fame and Voice-over Actor,Bob Bergen, the voice of "Porky Pig" and others. They were joined by an illustrious group of presenters such asSusan Flannery andJohn McCook ofThe Bold and the Beautiful;Melissa Claire Egan andIgnacio Serricchio ofThe Young and the Restless;Arianne Zucker,James Reynolds andJames Scott ofDays of Our Lives;Teresa Castillo andMarc Anthony Samuel ofGeneral Hospital;Robert Scott Wilson andDenyse Tontz ofAll My Children;Corbin Bleu ofOne Life to Live;David Rudman ofSesame Street Workshop; Yvette Gonzalez-Nacer,Tara Perry andThomas Hobson ofFresh Beat Band; andChristina Ferrare andMark Steines ofThe Home and Family Show. In addition, there were several special presenters such asGeri Jewell ofThe Facts of Life,Mary Elizabeth McDonough ofThe Waltons,Leslie Miller ofProspect Park's version ofOne Life to Live, andAll My Children, andTippi Hedren, the iconic actress fromAlfred Hitchcock'sThe Birds.[1]
The Bold and the Beautiful won the most awards, with four trophies including forOutstanding Drama Series Directing Team and five other Creative Arts Emmy Awards out of their 11 nominations.[5]
