4-Methylpentedrone (also known as4-MPD and4-Methyl-α-methylamino-valerophenone), is astimulant medication of thecathinone class, invented in 1960[citation needed].
It is a higherhomolog of4-methylmethcathinone (mephedrone) and4-methylbuphedrone (4-MeMABP), and thep-methylderivative ofpentedrone. It can also be viewed as the methylamino analog ofpyrovalerone.
A related compound,4-methyl-α-ethylaminopentiophenone (4-MEAP), has been found to be incorrectly sold as 4-methylpentedrone.[1][2]
