The33rd Indian Brigade was aninfantrybrigade of theBritish Indian Army that saw active service with theIndian Army during the First World War. It took part in theMesopotamian campaign in 1915 before being broken up at the end of the year.
The 33rd Indian Brigade was formed inMesopotamia in March 1915 as part of the12th Indian Division, with the last elements arriving atBasra on 9 April.[1] On 18 August, theHQ was transferred toBushire and the HQ was reformed in the division. The brigade was broken up on 7 December and replaced by the34th Indian Brigade.[2] The only significant action the brigade was involved with was the Occupation ofNasiriya on 25 July.[3]
