3-Hexanol (IUPAC name: hexan-3-ol; also calledethyl propyl carbinol) is anorganicchemical compound. It occurs naturally in the flavor and aroma of plants such aspineapple and is used as afood additive to add flavor.

3-Hexanol can be synthesized by thehydroboration of unsaturated hexane compounds such as3-hexyne.[2]
