The2nd Mobile Corps,[1] also translated as2nd Mobile Contingent,[2] is one of two Mobile Corps (the other being the1st Mobile Contingent) of thePeople's Armed Police and is headquartered inChangle district,Fuzhou.[3][4][5]
The126th Division was a military formation deployed by thePeople's Republic of China as part of thePeople's Volunteer Army (Chinese People's Volunteers (CPV) or Chinese Communist Forces (CCF) during theKorean War. It had a standard strength of approximately 10,000 men. It was a component of the42nd Army, consisting of the376th,377th, and378th Regiments.[6]
In 1996, it was transferred to thePeople's Armed Police and was renamed to the126th Armed Police Division.[7] It was stationed inHuadu district,Guangzhou and consisted of the373rd Armed Police Regiment stationed in Huadu district, Guangdong, the376th Armed Police Regiment stationed inLeiyang,Hengyang, the378th Armed Police Regiment stationed in Leiyang, Hengyang and the712nd Armed Police Regiment stationed in Huadu district, Guangzhou.[7]
In 2017, the 126th Armed Police Division became the 2nd Mobile Corps of the People's Armed Police and was merged with the181st Armed Police Division, the93rd Armed Police Division,41st Armed Police Division, the38th Armed Police Division and the2nd Armed Police Division.[8]
