2C-CP, or2C-cP, also known as4-cyclopropyl-2,5-dimethoxyphenethylamine, is apsychedelic anddesigner drug of thephenethylamine and2C families.[1] It was firstsynthesized byDaniel Trachsel and colleagues in 2006 and was subsequently described by them in the literature in 2013.[1] The drug has anaffinity (Ki) of 95 nM at theserotonin5-HT2A receptor and of 41 nM at the5-HT2C receptor.[1] 2C-CP is active at a dose of between 15 and 35 mgorally with aduration of 3 to 6 hours.[1] Its effects were described as rather diffuse and undefinable, with its full effects having not yet been explored.[1]Analogues of 2C-CP include2C-CPE,2C-IP,2C-P,2C-T-15,2C-V, and2C-YN, among others.[1][2] The drug is acontrolled substance inCanada under phenethylamine blanket-ban language.[3] It is not an explicitlycontrolled substance in theUnited States,[4] but it could be considered a controlled substance under theFederal Analogue Act if intended for human consumption.
