21 Hours at Munich is a 1976 Americanhistorical dramatelevision film directed byWilliam A. Graham and starringWilliam Holden,Shirley Knight andFranco Nero. It is based on the 1975 non-fiction bookThe Blood of Israel bySerge Groussard,[1] and it deals with real events concerning theMunich massacre during the1972 Summer Olympics.[2] It was broadcast byABC November 7, 1976.[3] Despite its television origin, the film was released theatrically in several foreign countries. It was nominated for twoPrimetime Emmys.[4]
