The2026 Wisconsin spring election will take place on April 7, 2026. One seat on theWisconsin Supreme Court, as well as various nonpartisan local and judicial offices will be up for election. The2026 spring primary will take place on February 17, 2026.
IncumbentDemocraticgovernorTony Evers, first elected in2018, has announced that he will not run for re-election. This will be the first open seat gubernatorial election in Wisconsin since2010.
Incumbent Democraticlieutenant governorSara Rodriguez, first elected in2022, has announced that she will not run for re-election as lieutenant governor, and will instead seek the Democratic nomination for governor.
Incumbent Democraticsecretary of stateSarah Godlewski, first appointed in 2023, is eligible to run for a full four year term, but will not do so. This will be the first open seat secretary of state election in Wisconsin since1978.
A regularly scheduledWisconsin Supreme Court election will be on the ballot for the spring general election, April 7, 2026, for a ten-year term on the court. The incumbent justice,Rebecca Bradley, is not running for re-election.[29] Two candidates have declared for this race, Wisconsin Court of Appeals judgesChris Taylor, of Dane County, andMaria S. Lazar, of Waukesha County.
Three seats on theWisconsin Court of Appeals will be on the ballot for the Spring general election, April 7, 2026.
In District I, incumbent judgeJoe Donald is running for a second six-year term unopposed. He was appointed to the court by GovernorTony Evers in 2019 and won election in 2020 without opposition.
In District II, incumbent judgeLisa Neubauer will not seek a fourth six-year term. She was appointed to the court by GovernorJim Doyle in January 2008, won election that Spring, won re-election without opposition in 2014, and defeated a challenger in 2020. Conservative attorney Anthony Loccoco is running unopposed for this seat. Administrative law judge Christine Hansen sought to run, but was disqualified by theWisconsin Elections Commission because her nomination forms were notarized by her husband, making the notarization voidable under Wisconsin law.[30]
In District IV, incumbent judgeRachel A. Graham is running for a second six-year term unopposed. She was appointed to the court by GovernorTony Evers in 2019 and won election in 2020 without opposition.
Twenty six of the state's 261 circuit court seats will be on the ballot for the general election on April 7, 2026. In at least five of those seats, the incumbent is retiring.[31]
A regularly scheduled mayoral election will be held inDe Pere, Wisconsin, concurrent with the general election on April 7, 2026. Incumbent mayor James Boyd is running for re-election unopposed.[33]
A regularly scheduled election will be held inKenosha County, concurrent with the general election on April 7, 2026. Incumbent county executiveSamantha Kerkman is running for re-election unopposed.[34]
A regularly scheduled election will be held inManitowoc County, concurrent with the general election on April 7, 2026. Incumbent county executiveBob Ziegelbauer declined to seek re-election.[35] Chairman of the Manitowoc County Board Tyler Martell is running unopposed for the office.[36]
A regularly scheduled mayoral election will be held inDelafield, Wisconsin, concurrent with the general election on April 7, 2026. Incumbent mayor, Tim Aicher, is running for re-election. He will face businessman Aaron Werner in the general election.[37]
A regularly scheduled mayoral election will be held inMuskego, Wisconsin, concurrent with the general election on April 7, 2026. Incumbent mayor, Rick Petfalski, is running for re-election. He will face former mayor Kathy Chiaverotti in the general election.[37]
A regularly scheduled mayoral election will be held inOconomowoc, Wisconsin, concurrent with the general election on April 7, 2026. Incumbent mayor Robert Magnus is not seeking re-election. City councilmembers Matthew Rosek and Karen Spiegelberg will face off in the general election.[37]
A regularly scheduled mayoral election will be held inWaukesha, Wisconsin, concurrent with the general election on April 7, 2026. Incumbent mayor Shawn Reilly, first elected in 2014, is not seeking re-election. Incumbent state representativeScott Allen will face city council president Alicia Halvensleben in the general election.[38][39][37]
A regularly scheduled mayoral election will be held inNeenah, Wisconsin, concurrent with the general election on April 7, 2026. Incumbent mayor Jane Lang will not seek re-election.[40] Two candidates are running to succeed Lang, policy consultant Scott Becher and educator Brian Borchardt.[41]
