The2026 Tennessee House of Representatives election will be held on November 3, 2026, to elect 99 seats for theTennessee House of Representatives.[1] The elections will coincide with theGovernor,U.S. Senate,U.S. House, andState Senate elections. Partisan primaries will take place on August 6, 2026. Tennessee hasopen primaries, meaning that any voter can choose to vote on either a Republican or Democratic ballot during primary elections.[2]

In the2024 presidential election in Tennessee,RepublicanDonald Trump won 75 of the state's 99 State House districts, whileDemocratKamala Harris won 24. As the state heads into the 2026 elections, Republicans hold 75 seats in the Tennessee House of Representatives, with Democrats holding 24.[3][4]

The 13th district is located inMiddle Tennessee and consists of a western strip ofRutherford County and includes portions of the cities ofMurfreesboro,Smyrna,La Vergne, andEagleville. Incumbent RepublicanRobert Stevens has represented the district since 2023.

The 14th district is located inEast Tennessee and consists of a southwestern portion ofKnox County. It includes most of the city ofFarragut and a small part ofKnoxville. Incumbent RepublicanJason Zachary has represented the district since 2015.

The 17th district is located inEast Tennessee and consists of a western portion ofJefferson County and a northeastern portion ofSevier County. The district includes the communities ofNew Market,Dandridge, andStrawberry Plains, and parts ofJefferson City andSevierville. Incumbent RepublicanAndrew Farmer has represented the district since 2013.

The 18th district is located inEast Tennessee and consists of severalKnoxvillesuburbs in southern and westernKnox County. The district is situated aroundI-75 andWest Knoxville and includes the communities of Amherst, Cedar Bluff, Rocky Hill,Bearden,Sequoyah Hills, Lakemoor Hills, Topside, Mount Olive, andBonny Kate.[5] Incumbent RepublicanElaine Davis has represented the district since 2023.

The 19th district is located inEast Tennessee and consists of a northeastern portion ofKnox County. It is the largest and most ruralTennessee House of Representatives district in the county. The district includes the communities ofCorryton,Mascot, Asbury, andHarbison Crossroads, and parts ofNorth Knoxville,Halls Crossroads,South Knoxville, andStrawberry Plains. Incumbent RepublicanDave Wright has represented the district since 2019.

The district includes the communities ofTellico Plains,Englewood,Niota, andEtowah. It also includes a large section ofCherokee National Forest on theTennessee-North Carolina border. The district includes the cities ofCrossville,Fairfield Glade,Lake Tansi, andMonterey. The 26th district is located inEast Tennessee and consists of a central strip ofHamilton County running fromSale Creek in the north, throughMiddle Valley,Lakesite, andHarrison, down to downtownChattanooga in the south. Incumbent RepublicanGreg Martin has represented the district since 2023.

The district includes most ofLenoir City, all ofKingston,Harriman, andRockwood, and the Roane County portion ofOak Ridge. Additionally, district is home toOak Ridge National Laboratory. Incumbent RepublicanMonty Fritts has represented the district since 2023.

The district includes all ofBriceville, most ofClinton, roughly half ofRocky Top, and the Anderson County portions ofOak Ridge andOliver Springs. Incumbent RepublicanRick Scarbrough has represented the district since 2025.

The district includes all of the cities ofCastalian Springs andHartsville, roughly half ofGallatin, and small parts ofHendersonville andBethpage. The 37th district is located inMiddle Tennessee and consists of a north-central strip ofRutherford County and includes portions of the cities ofMurfreesboro,Smyrna, andWalterhill. Incumbent RepublicanCharlie Baum has represented the district since 2019.

The 38th district is located betweenEast andMiddle Tennessee and consists of a strip of counties stretching along theKentucky-Tennessee border, including all ofScott,Pickett,Clay, andMacon counties, and the northern half ofFentress County. The district includes the cities ofOneida,Lafayette,Red Boiling Springs,Huntsville, and part ofJamestown. Incumbent RepublicanKelly Keisling has represented the district since 2011.

The 39th district is located betweenEast andMiddle Tennessee and consists two counties on theGeorgia-Tennessee border:Marion County andFranklin County. The district includes the cities ofWinchester,Jasper,South Pittsburg, andSewanee. The district is also home toThe University of the South. Incumbent RepublicanIris Rudder has represented the district since 2019.

The 40th district is located inMiddle Tennessee and consists of all ofJackson,Smith,DeKalb, andCannon counties, and a very small portion of northeasternWilson County. The district includes the cities ofSmithville,Carthage, andWoodbury. Incumbent RepublicanMichael Hale has represented the district since 2023.

The 41st district is located betweenEast andMiddle Tennessee and consists of all ofMorgan andOverton counties, the southern half ofFentress County, a northern strip ofAnderson County, and a very small piece of northernRoane County. The district includes the cities ofLivingston,Coalfield,Norris,Petros, and parts of the cities ofOliver Springs andClinton. Incumbent RepublicanEd Butler has represented the district since 2023.

The 59th district is located inMiddle Tennessee and covers parts of southernDavidson County, including neighborhoods such asBelle Meade,Forest Hills,Oak Hill, andBellevue, inNashville. Incumbent DemocratCaleb Hemmer has represented the district since 2023. The district is considered competitive.Bill Lee narrowly carried it in the2022 gubernatorial election and in the2024 presidential election,Kamala Harris won the district with a margin of 2.5%.[6]

The 60th district is located in easternDavidson County and includes the suburbs ofDonelson,Hermitage,Lakewood, andOld Hickory. Incumbent DemocratShaundelle Brooks has represented the district since 2025. The district leans Democratic but remains somewhat competitive. In 2024,Kamala Harris won the district with a margin of 10.5%.[7]

The 65th district is located inMiddle Tennessee and includes the western part ofWilliamson County, includingFairview and parts ofFranklin andThompson's Station. Incumbent RepublicanLee Reeves has represented the district since 2025.[8]

District 66

The 66th district is located inMiddle Tennessee, covering all ofRobertson County which includesSpringfield. IncumbentRepublicanSabi "Doc" Kumar has represented the district since 2015. He is the firstIndian American to be elected to the Tennessee State House,[9] and chairs the House Insurance Committee and serves on several others.[10]

District 67

The 67th district is located inMiddle Tennessee and is located in the urban core ofClarksville inMontgomery County. The district includes theAustin Peay State University campus. Incumbent DemocratRonnie Glynn had represented the district since 2023. In 2024, he narrowly won re-election by just a 0.6% margin.Donald Trump won the district with a margin of 1.8%.[11] This is considered a highly competitive district.

The 68th district is located inMiddle Tennessee and consists of a section ofClarksville in easternMontgomery County. Incumbent RepublicanAron Maberry has represented the district since 2025.[12]

District 69

The 69th district is located inMiddle Tennessee and includes all ofHickman andLewis Counties, as well as the western part ofDickson County. Incumbent RepublicanJody Barrett has represented the district since 2023.

District 70

The 70th district is located inMiddle Tennessee and includes all ofGiles County, as well as parts ofLawrence andLincoln Counties. Incumbent RepublicanClay Doggett has represented the district since 2019.

The 71st district is located in southernMiddle Tennessee and includes all ofWayne, and parts the western part ofMaury County as well as parts ofHardin andLawrence Counties. Incumbent RepublicanKip Capley has represented the district since 2023.

In 2024, Gillespie won re-election by 3.4%, andKamala Harris won the district with a margin of 4.9%.[15]

District 99

The 99th district is located in suburbanShelby County including parts ofBartlett andMillington as well asLakeland andArlington. RepublicanTom Leatherwood has represented the district since 2020. While the area includes some swing suburbs, the district is currently considered safely Republican.
