The2026 FIM MotoGP World Championship will be the premier class of the 78thFédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM)Road Racing World Championship season, the highest level of competition inmotorcycleroad racing. It will be the final season of the premier class utilizing 1000cc engines andMichelinseries-specified tyres, before switching to new 850cc engine regulations and tyres sourced fromPirelli, among other technical changes, from the 2027 season onwards.^[1][2]

In this season, MotoGP will introduce a new racing class featuring Harley-Davidson motorcycles starting in the 2026 season. This class will be called the "Harley-Davidson Bagger World Cup" and will featureHarley-Davidson Bagger motorcycles modified for racing, competing in six different MotoGP series inEurope andNorth America.^[3][4]

• Both Yamaha teams will utilize theV4 version of their engine from 2026 for the first time in the MotoGP era as the YZR-M1 has been aninline-four specification since 2002.^[31]

• Three-timeWorld Superbike ChampionToprak Razgatlıoğlu will make his Grand Prix motorcycle racing debut withPrima Pramac Yamaha MotoGP.^[28] He replacesMiguel Oliveira, who was released from his contract a year early and will replace Razgatlıoğlu atROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team.^[32]
• Reigning Moto2 World ChampionDiogo Moreira will make his premier class debut withHonda LCR replacingSomkiat Chantra, who is moving toHonda’s World Superbike outfit.^[33]

Engine specification will be frozen for this season. For factories in concession Rank D, the engine specification freeze will not apply unless they change rank.^[34]

• MotoGP will return toBrazil in 2026 after a 21-year absence. The last time MotoGP was held in Brazil was in 2004 at theJacarepaguá Circuit in Rio de Janeiro, where it was known as theRio de Janeiro Grand Prix.^[57]
• TheArgentine Grand Prix will not be returning to the calendar in 2026, as the organisers have confirmed in a statement, aiming to return in 2027. The Argentine Grand Prix came back onto the calendar in 2014 at the newAutódromo Termas de Río Hondo venue, having previously been held on and off inBuenos Aires between1961 and1999.^[58] However on 21 July 2025, Dorna announced that the Argentine Grand Prix would have a new home starting in the 2027 season. Work is currently underway to return to theAutódromo Oscar y Juan Gálvez.^[59]
