United States Senate [ edit ] The incumbent senator of Illinois' class 2 United States Senate seat is DemocratDick Durbin , who has served six consecutive terms. Durbin announced his retirement in April 2025, making this the first open race for this seat since1996 .[ 2]
United States House of Representatives [ edit ] All of Illinois's seats in theUnited States House of Representatives were for election in 2026.
Governor and lieutenant governor [ edit ] The incumbentgovernor andlieutenant governor are DemocratsJB Pritzker andJuliana Stratton . Pritzker is running for reelection, while Stratton is running for the U.S. Senate, withChristian Mitchell replacing her on the ticket with Pritzker.
The incumbentattorney general is two-term DemocratKwame Raoul , who is running for re-election.
