Aryna Sabalenka defeatedJessica Pegula in the final, 7–5, 6–2 to win the women's singles tennis title at the2025 Miami Open .[ 1] She did not lose a set en route to her eighthWTA 1000 and 19th careerWTA Tour title. The final was a rematch of the 2024Cincinnati andUS Open finals, both of which were also won by Sabalenka.
Danielle Collins was the defending champion,[ 2] but lost in the fourth round to Sabalenka.[ 3]
Alexandra Eala became the first Filipina to defeat a top 10 player since the introduction of theWTA rankings in 1975, a feat she achieved twice during the tournament,[ 4] the first to reach the semifinals of aWTA Tour andWTA 1000 event, and the first to reach the top 100 in the rankings. Eala was also the third wildcard (afterJustine Henin in2010 andVictoria Azarenka in2018 ) to reach theMiami Open semifinals.[ 5]
