The2025 Miami Marlins season was the 33rd season for theMajor League Baseball (MLB) franchise in the National League. The Marlins played their home games atLoanDepot Park as members of theNational League East Division. In their first year under managerClayton McCullough, the Marlins improved on their 62–100 record from2024, going 79-83 and finishing third in the NL East.

On September 25, the Marlins were eliminated from playoff contention for their second consecutive season after a 0–1 loss to thePhiladelphia Phillies.[2]

For the third time in franchise history, the Marlins eliminated theNew York Mets from playoff contention on the final day of the regular season, which allowed theCincinnati Reds to clinch the final playoff spot instead.[3]

Offseason

The Marlins finished the2024 season with a 62–100 record, which was a 22-game step back from their 84–78 record in2023. The team announced on September 29 that managerSkip Schumaker would not return for the 2025 season.

On November 11, 2024, the Marlins hiredClayton McCullough to be the franchise's 17th manager in their history.[4]
