The2025 DFB-Pokal final decided the winner of the2024–25 DFB-Pokal, the 82nd season of the annual Germanfootball cup competition. The match was played on 24 May 2025 at theOlympiastadion inBerlin.[3][4]

The match featuredArminia Bielefeld, a3. Liga side, andVfB Stuttgart, aBundesliga side. Arminia Bielefeld, in their first final, became the fourth third-division side to reach the DFB-Pokal final.

VfB Stuttgart won the match 4–2 for their fourthDFB-Pokal title. As winners, they will host the2025 Franz Beckenbauer Supercup at the start of the following season, and will face the champion of the2024–25 Bundesliga,Bayern Munich. They also earned automatic qualification for the league phase of the2025–26 UEFA Europa League.[5]

Arminia Bielefeld reached their first German Cup final, becoming the first team from the3. Liga to do so. They are the fourth team from the third division to reach the DFB-Pokal final, followingHertha BSC Amateure in1993,Energie Cottbus in1997 andUnion Berlin in2001—each of whom lost.[6]

Route to the final

The DFB-Pokal began with 64 teams in asingle-elimination knockout cup competition. There were a total of five rounds leading up to the final. Teams were drawn against each other, and the winner after 90 minutes would advance. If still tied, 30 minutes ofextra time was played. If the score was still level, apenalty shoot-out was used to determine the winner.[7]
