Pre-season and friendlies

On 8 May, Walsall announced their first pre-season friendly, againstPremier League sideAston Villa.[64] A month later, a second fixture was confirmed againstLeamington.[65] Two more were added againstDerby County andHereford.[66] On 17 June, a fifth fixture was added to the schedule, againstForest Green Rovers.[67]
