The Cardinals, led by second-year head coachKyle Smith, play their home games atMaples Pavilion in their second season as members of theAtlantic Coast Conference.
TheCardinal finished 21-14 and 11–9 inACC play to finish in seventh place. As the seventh seed in the2025 ACC tournament, they defeated rivalCal in the second round 78–73 before narrowly falling toLouisville 75–73 on a last secondChucky Hepburn buzzer-beater. They received an at-large bid to theNational Invitation Tournament as the No. 2 seed in the San Francisco Region. They defeatedCal State Northridge in the First Round 87–80 before narrowly losing toKent State 77–75 in the Second Round.
