The 2025–26 season is the 23rd season in the history of theScarlets, a Welsh regionalrugby union side based inLlanelli,Carmarthenshire. In this season, they will compete in theUnited Rugby Championship, its URC Welsh Shield competition and theEuropean Rugby Champions Cup.

Friendlies

As part of their pre-season preparations, the Scarlets announced they would face bothLlandovery andCarmarthen Quins on 6 September. The day would see the Scarlets play 30 minutes against Llandovery followed by 30 minutes against Carmarthen Quins (with the twoSuper Rygbi Cymru sides facing each other in a final 30 minute game).[1] In the end, the games were played as two 40-minute halves and the contest between Llandovery and Carmarthen Quins was cancelled.[2]

The fixture schedule for the2025–26 United Rugby Championship season was announced on 21 May 2025.[3] Scarlets' fixture withConnacht was originally due to take place on 4 October 2025, but was postponed due to travel disruptions caused byStorm Amy. The fixture was rescheduled to 13 March 2026.[4]

European Rugby Champions Cup

The Scarlets qualified for the2025–26 European Rugby Champions Cup as one of the top eight finishers in the2024–25 United Rugby Championship. They were drawn in Pool 4 alongside URC rivalsBulls (who they will not meet in the pool stage as per the rules of the competition) along with reigning European championsUnion Bordeaux Bègles andPau from France, andBristol Bears and last year's Champions Cup runners upNorthampton Saints from theEnglish Premiership.
