Pre-season and friendlies

On 23 May, Chesterfield announced their first pre-season fixture, againstMatlock Town.[39] Three weeks later, a second friendly was added againstSheffield United.[40] Also confirmed was a training camp in Spain, along with a friendly againstEuropa Point.[41] On 17 June, a fourth friendly match was added to the schedule, againstBurton Albion.[42] A fifth and sixth friendly was later announced, againstNottingham Forest andAlfreton Town.[43][44]
