The2024 North Dakota State Bison football team representedNorth Dakota State University as a member of theMissouri Valley Football Conference (MVFC) during the2024 NCAA Division I FCS football season. The Bison were led by first-year head coachTim Polasek. Polasek joined the Bison after being anoffensive coordinator at North Dakota State,Iowa, and most recently,Wyoming. Polasek was assisted by first-year offensive coordinatorJake Landry,[1] who joined the Bison fromSt. Thomas, as well as co-defensive coordinators Grant Olson and Nick Goeser.[2] The Bison played their home games at theFargodome inFargo, North Dakota.

The Bison finished their regular season with a 10–2 record (7–1 in conference), losing toColorado[3] andSouth Dakota.[4] They were seeded second in the FCS playoffs and received a first round bye; they then defeatedAbilene Christian,[5]Mercer,[6] andSouth Dakota State[7] to reach thechampionship game. The Bison completed their season by defeatingMontana State on January 6 inFrisco, Texas, to capture the program's tenth FCS title in 14 seasons,[8] and 18th overall title.

The Missouri Valley Football Conference released its preseason poll on July 22, 2024, voted on by league athletic directors, coaches, and media members. The Bison were predicted to finish second in the conference.[9]
