The2024 season was theLos Angeles Chargers' 55th in theNational Football League (NFL), their 65th overall, their ninth in theGreater Los Angeles Area, their fifth playing their home games atSoFi Stadium, and their first under head coachJim Harbaugh[1] andnew general managerJoe Hortiz. The Chargers improved on their 5–12 record from2023 following a Week 10 victory against theTennessee Titans. With a win over theNew England Patriots in Week 17, the Chargers clinched a wild card spot, returning to the playoffs after a one-year absence, but lost to theTexans by a score of 32–12 in the Wild Card round. The Chargers' strong defense finished the season with only 301 points allowed, the fewest in the league.[2][3] Their .647 winning percentage was their best since2018.
This is the first season since2012 without wide receiverKeenan Allen on the roster, as he was traded to theChicago Bears on March 14. This madeJoey Bosa andDenzel Perryman the last players that are on the Chargers during their time inSan Diego.[4]
