The2024 European Parliament election inLithuania were held on 9 June 2024 as part of the2024 European Parliament election. This was the first to take place afterBrexit.[1]
Lithuania will elect 11Members of the European Parliament.[2]
Two out of the eleven incumbents opted not to seek reelection:Aušra Maldeikienė, of theTS-LKD, andViktor Uspaskich fromLabour, both citing personal reasons for their decision.[3]
The remaining nine incumbents, however, sought another term. Among themAndrius Kubilius,Rasa Juknevičienė,Liudas Mažylis, all from TS-LKD,Vilija Blinkevičiūtė andJuozas Olekas, representing theLSDP,Petras Auštrevičius (LRLS), and Bronis Ropė (LVŽS) expressed their desire to continue serving in parliament.[3]
Waldemar Tomaszewski, from theEAPL–CFA, had initially announced his retirement,[3] but ran for reelection regardless.Stasys Jakeliūnas, anindependent politician, previously associated with the LVŽS, was ostracized by the party due to his stance on theRussian invasion of Ukraine.[4] Following this, Jakeliūnas switched party allegiances and ran on theLRP's list.
15 electoral lists were registered by the Central Election Commission on 7 May 2024. Two parties, theLithuanian People's Party and theLithuanian List, were unable to gather the required 10 thousand signatures, and one,Young Lithuania, withdrew from the race on their own accord.[5] The order of the ballot was determined bylot on 26 April 2024.[6]
Parliamentary election poll results are listed in the table below in reverse chronological order. The highest percentage figure in each poll is displayed in bold, and its background is shaded in the leading party's colour. The "Lead" column shows thepercentage point difference between the two parties with the highest figures.

Once the officials confirmed the results fromLithuania, it became clear that theHomeland Union maintained its status for the next term. It gained three seats, which is the same results as in2019. It was fourth consecutive election to the European Parliament when Homeland Union won plurarity of the votes. The party is a member of theEuropean People's Party.
In second place emerged theSocial Democratic Party with two seats. The results remained stable. It is a member of theEuropean Socialists. In third place finished theunion of Farmers and Greens with a single mandate, a decrease by one from 2019. The party has been a member of theGreens/European Free Alliance since 2014 but connected with theEuropean Conservatives and Reformists (ECR) this time.
The newly foundedFreedom Party is following the list with one delegate. Formerly, it was part of theLiberals' Movement, which also gained a mandate. Both of the parties belong toALDE, marking an increase in liberals from the country from 1 to 2 delegates in total.
TheUnion of Democrats and theElectoral Action of Poles got one mandate each as well. The first one is a member of theEuropean Green Party, while the other later one is a member of theECR. ThePeople and Justice Union got a single delegate, however, as of 10 June 2024, the party co-foundedEurope of Sovereign Nations.
