Lithuania will elect 11Members of the European Parliament.[2]

Two out of the eleven incumbents opted not to seek reelection:Aušra Maldeikienė, of theTS-LKD, andViktor Uspaskich fromLabour, both citing personal reasons for their decision.[3]

The remaining nine incumbents, however, sought another term. Among themAndrius Kubilius,Rasa Juknevičienė,Liudas Mažylis, all from TS-LKD,Vilija Blinkevičiūtė andJuozas Olekas, representing theLSDP,Petras Auštrevičius (LRLS), and Bronis Ropė (LVŽS) expressed their desire to continue serving in parliament.[3]

Waldemar Tomaszewski, from theEAPL–CFA, had initially announced his retirement,[3] but ran for reelection regardless.Stasys Jakeliūnas, anindependent politician, previously associated with the LVŽS, was ostracized by the party due to his stance on theRussian invasion of Ukraine.[4] Following this, Jakeliūnas switched party allegiances and ran on theLRP's list.
