Darts tournament

The2024 Bahrain Darts Masters was a professionaldarts tournament that was held at theBahrain International Circuit inSakhir, Bahrain from 18–19 January 2024.[1] It was the second staging of the tournament by theProfessional Darts Corporation and was the first event in the2024 World Series of Darts. The tournament featured 16 players (8 PDC representatives and 8 Asian representatives).

Michael Smith was the defending champion, having defeatedGerwyn Price 8–6 in the2023 final.[2][3] However, he lost 7–6 toMichael van Gerwen in the semi-finals.

On 19 January, two days before his 17th birthday,Luke Littler became the youngest player to hit a televisednine-dart finish, achieving the feat in the first leg of his 6–3 quarter-final win overNathan Aspinall. The previous record of 17 years and 298 days had been set by van Gerwen at the2007 Masters of Darts.[4][5] Littler also became the second player, afterPhil Taylor, to hit a nine-darter in the World Series.[6]

Littler went on to win the tournament, and capture his first PDC senior title, by beating Gerwyn Price 7–3 in the semi-finals and Michael van Gerwen 8–5 in the final.[6] He became the third player, after van Gerwen and Nathan Aspinall, to win a World Series title on his debut.
